After installing WordPress, the first thing you’ll want to do is explore free plugins!
WordPress has thousands of free plugins in their plugin directory to explore. Plugins are awesome because they allow you to add new features and functionality to your blog or site with the click of a button!
For free, no coding required which is pretty cool.
This tutorial will show you step by step how to install a free WordPress plugin.
Let’s go!
Quick Note
WordPress.com isn’t able to install plugins. So if you can’t see the plugins menu in your WordPress dashboard, it’s because you’re using WordPress.com.
In order to install plugins, you’ll need WordPress.org installed. If you’d like to check out the differences between .com and .org I’ve written a blog post on it.
How To Install A Free WordPress Plugin
1. After you are logged into your WordPress dashboard click on “Plugins” then “Add New”
2. In the search box, search the plugin’s name.
3. Click “Install” then “Activate”
That’s it, you’ve successfully installed a WordPress plugin! The next step would be configure the plugins settings so their right for you and your site.
Cheering you on,
