Plugins

favourite plugins

A plugin makes it super easy to add features to your site without knowing a single line of code. It’s like a mini- theme, making it easy to add specific functionality that you simply ‘plug-in’ to your site. Best of all – there is no shortage of plugins.

Because there are literally thousands of plugins available, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite and (what I believe) most useful plugins to add to your WordPress website. Let’s go!

Spam – Akismet Anti-Spam

Social Icons – Simple Social Icons

Social share buttons – Social Warfare

Instagram gallery –  lightwidget.com

Affiliate link manager – Shortlinks by Pretty Links

SEO tool – Yoast SEO

Backup and restore tool – UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin

How to install free plugins

1. After you are logged into your WordPress dashboard click on “Plugins” then “Add New”

2. In the search box, search the plugin’s name.

3.Click “Install” then “Activate”

4. The plugin is now installed.

Email Opt-in

Get Started

Please Note* In order to use the email opt-in function, you will need to create an account with an email marketing provider.

Creating an email list (even if your blog or brand has just launched) is a really important step! In fact it’s the #1 tip you hear successful blogger’s say they wish they had started from day 1!

If you don’t already have an email marketing provider, I recommend MailerLite (free) or ConvertKit (premium)

MailerLite is a great place to get started if you’re beginning to grow an email list. It’s free to get started with under 1000 subscribers and they offer very affordable plans and features as you list grows!
Get started with MailerLite

ConvertKit is in my opinion the best email marketing software designed for bloggers. It has a beautiful intuitive interface, allows for unlimited email sending and has all the features you could possibly need!
Sign Up for ConvertKit

Even if you don’t plan on sending out any newseletters yet, you can and should sign up by signing up for a free account and letting your list build up in the background for when you want it to leverage it (and there will be a time you will want to!)

writting your sales page

Writting your sales page copy can be overwhelming to say the least! This bundle includes a ‘how to write your sales page’ worksheet to help  you craft your message.

Access the google doc here or you can find the word doc within your download folder.

Just fill out the worksheet propts and you’ll see your sales copy starting to take form.

In my own experience, i’ve found it’s best to complete your sales page copy first – draft it, edit it, review it and when you’re happy –  copy / paste the text into the corresponding rows of the web template.
